‘Everybody Hurts’ Unveiled
Twenty-five years ago, it was Duran Duran, Bono, Paul Young, George Michael, Phil Collins, Paul Weller, Sting, Spandau Ballet, Status Quo and many more, gathered together by Sir Bob Geldof for Band Aid. In 2010, Simon Cowell has amassed an equally spectacular, star-studded collection of singers for the Haiti fundraising single.
Leona Lewis, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Cheryl Cole, Mika, Michael Buble, Robbie Williams, Susan Boyle, Miley Cyrus, James Blunt, Jon Bon Jovi, Take That, Westlife, JLS, James Morrison and Alexandra Burke are amongst the 21 artists who have contributed vocals to the cover of R.E.M.'s ‘Everybody Hurts'.
Pop mogul Cowell organised the single, which he described as "an absolute priority for us all," in a matter of days, after receiving a personal request from British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, following the tragic earthquake on the island of Haiti on 12 January, 2010.

‘Everybody Hurts' was premiered on BBC Radio 1 and other stations nationally today and will be released digitally on 7 February and in shops the following day.
